“Kuj Hyderi Hua Zamane Me”
I am Ufak Fatima Hyderi D/O Zaheer Hussain Hyderi, S/O Late Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, S/O Late Haaji Ghulam Ali Khuwaja and Late Shamsher ul Hyderi was my father’s 1st cousin. I am not habitual to admire or give myself a compliment but I must say that sometime, I personally do not believe and feel proud that I took birth in that loyal family, which is surrounded by charismatic personalities, who owes million of qualities which, never be describe in my simple words but I am just trying to fulfill my responsibility to tell something about my ancestors. Our history is too long but I am taking start from my great grandfather late Haaji Ghulam Ali Khuwaja.
Late Haaji Ghulam Ali Khuwaja was lived in “Rahmaki”, which is now known as “Rhamaki bazaar” situated in the costal belt of south side of district Badin (UC:Kadhan) . My great grandfather was too rich and successful business man so he was called as “seth”. He was the owner of many leather shops in subcontinent (people call it kothi) where leather of different domestic animals gathered, after that they clean and send them to different parts of east and west of subcontinent including Amritsar, Baroda, Ahmadabad, Kachh and Bujh.
After a long time, his family shifted to Nindo (near Badin) and May 14, 1911 was the great day, when a birth took placed in his family and gave him a name, Nazeer Hussain, studied at Sindh Madarsa-tul- Islam Karachi and with the passage of time he learnt medical science and did practice, so soon after he called “Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi , was the 3rd son of his father, but had totally different qualities from his elder brothers, “Late Ali Hussain Hyderi” and Late Ghulam Hussain Hyderi.
As we know that money, a master key to unlock any door and it is also regarded as power. But in the eyes of late Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, Money is nothing .He just loved to collect and read different books. The thirst of knowledge was expended throughout his blood and quiet his own words in the introduction of their book "Khuda Aen Jurtu Khuda” that “when I was in 3rd standard (class), I really liked to read different books ,did not left any book without reading , even I read the books of Hinduism, Sikhism, Christians, Sunni’s, Shia’s, Wahabi’s, Kaadiani’s etc..I read the literatures of Communism (Atheism), philosophies of Mark, Hegel and so on. Meanwhile, this true love and affection with books, took him near to nature and Allah, and far away from the greed of money.
In “Hazaaran Me Hyderi” by Zaheer Hussain Hyderi (writer) pg-8 : “Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, who was poet, reporter, writer, teacher, philosopher, scholar and at the same time he was poor but forgot his hunger, always bought different books and read them in first priority. At once, he had a huge library, in which all types of books including religion, social and even the books of Mark, Hegel, Lenin, and of other philosophers. Shamsher ul Hyderi (poet) learnt the art of reading and writing from Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, as he accompanied him from childhood and by reading books of medicine, homeopathic and allopathic from his uncle’s library, helped out to become homeopathic doctor (hakeem). Afterward Shamsher ul Hyderi got admission in “Sindh Madarsa tul Islam, Karachi” by the help of Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyder. Moulana Mohammad Girami and Munshi Abdul Shaqoor were the best friends of Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, soon came in contact with Shamsher ul Hyderi, which opened the ways for him to come farward in Mehran Magazine and in Halal Pakistan newspaper. Then (1951) he got job in irrigation sector by the help of Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi and his friend SDO Ahmed Khan Burgari. After that (in 1952) he got managerial post in “Agriculture Co-operatocredit Bank” by the help of Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, as he was one of the director in BOD. Shamsher ul Hyderi wrote in one of his article and always admired in speeches and interviews that “I am feeling proud that I am the nurture of that personality, I m nothing but what so ever I am, is just because of the teaching, company, affection and environment provided by my maternal father, Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi”
In every moment of Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi’s life, he just thought about the welfare of mankind and gave first priority to provide them benefit in any cost, expended most of his earning upon poors, even, sometimes, sat in their gatherings, to show the feeling of love and equality.
He was one and only who fought against rich (including pir, mir and jaagirdar) for the rights of poor otherwise no one dared to say a single word in front of them because it was the matter of life and death but as I mentioned that he was totally different, did not afraid from death and wanted to change the "jaagirdaanasystem" from society, where everyone must be calm, live their lives with own wishes and choices, no any discrimination between white and black, man and woman, rich and poor, Muslim and Hindu.
At the time of partition of subcontinent in 1947, independence of Pakistan, when there were tough conditions and everybody were afraid to be killed or to be robbed, at that time Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi was one of the super hero and great contributor, who guided the Hindus and took them to safe place at Khokhrapar border.
He was, of course, the well-wisher of needy people, so decided to help farmers too, along with “Kamred Haider Bux Jatoi” and became senior vice president of “Sindh Haari committee” to sort out problems occurred with farmers.
In 1952, Nazeer Hussain Hyderi published his first newspaper; named Ailan e Haq, was wonderful starting to exclude jaagirdana system from our society, specially from lower Sindh (Laar).
However, he was too poor and spended his whole life in hunger but served that newspaper more than his children and tried to make it “a voice of nation”. After his critical thinking, he wrote about politics, media, philosophies, astronomy, arts, poetry, religion, medicines and so many other important things in that newspaper.
The proof of his knowledge and intelligence is still visible in a form of their books and newspapers but if anybody want to see mirror of Nazeer Hussain Hyderi then just look at his students and their success, namely Shamsher ul Hyderi,Mohammad Soomaar Sheikh, Mohammad Siddique Marham, Farman Ali Farman, and uncountable names in list. Shamsher ul Hyderi also wrote in Zaheer Hussain Hyderi’s book “muterkan moh kadya” “we see nothing in the history of sindh (laar) after independence of Pakistan, no one who reported or published newspaper but Nazeer Hussain Hyderi was the only person on the land of Laar, who reported about everybody and everything (either poor or rich, politician or farmer, black or white, Muslim or Hindu), spread the voice of rights with empty hands, a person from great family, who forever fought for farmers and needy people.”
As we know that this cruel world is the biggest enemy of valuable personalities from the beginning of global world. Who so ever tried to change this world in positive manner, evil world did not digest it. Same situation occurred here. My grandfather’s newspaper was existed just for a short time of 11 months, because he wrote truth about politician and jaagirdar etc, soon newspaper became banned, he imprisoned in jail and died in 1972.
But with the grace of Allah, my father Zaheer Hussain Hyderi gave new life to Ailan e Haq in 1998, after 46 years and continued it in same way.
To appreciate the services of Dr Nazeer Hussain Hyderi, an academy with his name is running for giving him honour in Badin, published few books including “falsafa e mohabbat…khuda aen tibeh zaad khuda…khuda aen jurtu khuda… golian golian me lahan…shaan e khatmi martabat te likhan ta cha likhan ?...shehzada qasim and mutarkan mohn kadya”
Message:
“Dada! Your name and everything including books and newspapers will be live throughout the life. I will spread your message of truth throughout the world, I promise.”
